Runcore Factory Tour Video - Production of an SSD from start to finish

Watch the video below - it is a long one and goes for around 22 minutes, but should be quite interesting to many as we bring you this exclusive look at how a Runcore SSD (the particular drive we saw in production was a 128GB 1.8-inch ZIF Pro IV drive) is made in a style that shows you exactly what we saw.

You can download the 720p HD version of the video by visiting this page and clicking the download link under the video. IMPORTANT - You will need to be logged into Viddler first before you can download it.

This week we were invited to visit the folks at Runcore at their Hangzhou office in China and get a look at its full range of Pro IV SSDs which launched just the other day.

During the five day trip, we arranged a factory tour of the Runcore facilities, which is conveniently located only about ten minutes down the road in the economic and development area of Hangzhou, officially known as 'HEDA' by the Chinese government.

The factory isn't owned by Runcore and its production is outsourced to the nearby factory which makes other technology related products for a range of different companies. We go deep inside to the factory and bring you a look at the factory and a very in-depth video look at exactly how an SSD is made from start to finish.

We cover not only the high speed SMT (Surface Mount Technology) machines, but also the testing phase and even packaging, right up to the point where the drives get shipped off to you to use in your computers.

We hope you enjoyed this look at how an SSD is made and exactly just what work goes into making one of these that you normally wouldn't see.
