Introduction

Hightech Information System, a leading innovative solution in the European computer graphics market, has recently launched their new line of specialty cooled video graphic cards. Beginning with their impressive DHES (Direct Heat Exhausting System) technology, bundled inside their IceQ line of enthusiast cards, we're ecstatic to put their cards to the supreme test. The heavily awarded European company has graciously sampled two top of the line graphic cards to the Canadian TweakTown labs for a full analysis and in-depth review.

A plethora of companies are presently marketing their own platforms of licensed ATi Radeon graphic technologies, but very few are making a true mark in the industry innovating the competition and igniting the future of the PC's visual performance. Fortunately, one of these companies has stepped up and taken a critical step into the future the consumer market's computing experience.

For this article we're specifically dealing with the HIS super-cooled Excalibur 9800 Pro IceQ, and their very recent Excalibur 9600XT; one of them being accompanied by their most technically-advanced VPU cooling solution and the other being an overclocked midstream video card. We are quite lucky to be examining a broad range of visual processing technologies today. We have yet to see a company combine near-silent graphical computing with the inclusion of an efficient thermal cooling solution. Both graphic cards are equipped with a decent 128 megabytes of DDR RAM and a bundle of valuable accessories (including the hyped Half-Life 2 game ticket), preparing for a very interesting review.
