Introduction

Today nVidia Asia Pacific held a conference call with the aim of letting local media in the surrounding region learn all about the company's plans for their new range of PCI Express supported graphics cards for at least the next six months.

In the conference call we learned about nVidia's anticipated Hi-Speed Interconnect (HSI) bridge chip which allows AGP functions to be translated into PCI Express functions through an overclocked AGP system that the company has been working on for some time now. We were also handed information about nVidia's new range of GeForce PCX PCI Express graphics cards which will be available soon, once we see the solutions on the market readily available to support the new standard.

The aim of this short piece is to give you all an idea of what nVidia plans to do over the next six months with their graphics processors and to hopefully cure some of the misunderstandings we've heard floating around regarding nVidia's much talked about HIS bridge chip and the PCI Express bus standard.

We've posted a bunch of screenshots of the documentation we received direct from nVidia which will help make things easier to understand.
