Introduction

With the NDA being lifted just over 24 hours ago and our GeForce 7800 GTX sample reference cards rocking up just as we predicted, we are going to have a look into the second part of our article in regards to performance. We will have a quick look at our test system setup along with our general feelings on the new GPU.

In this, part two of our 7800 GTX coverage, we won't go into detail as we did cover majority of what we needed to cover in part one, which you can read here.

As we mentioned in part one, the latest nVidia offerings are utilizing a single slot cooler giving us a clean gap between both cards. We can thank this to better utilization of power which of course in turn means we don't need coolers as big as the 6800 Ultra.

The other thing is the noise level of the cards is quite bearable. With the way nVidia have been running in the past (trying to beat the noise level of a rocket ship), it is good to see (Ed. Note - hear, do you mean?) a step back in the noise department.

Let's move on and check out what you came here for: performance of GeForce 7800 GTX.
