Creative expand GigaWorks speaker range

By: (more) | Audio, Sound & Speakers News | Posted: Sep 2, 2008 12:33 am

Creative has just found room for three more sets of speakers to fit amongst its GigaWorks range; the T3, T20 Series II and T40 Series II.

Creative GigaWorks T3 2.1 Speaker Kit

The T3 is the most impressive (and expensive) of the three which comprises a 2.1 arrangement. The sub features a SLAM (Symmetrically Loaded Acoustic Module) design whilst the sats use 6.5" drivers. Other features include Low Standby Power technology, a wired remote with volume and power on/off controls and aux-in for portable devices as well as the line-in on the rear panel for your main input device.

Both the Series II variants of the older T20 and T40 speakers are still based muchly on the original designs but now feature superior acoustics, BasXPort technology for more punchy bass and front-mounted controls. The T40 and T20 seperate themselves where the former sports two drivers per speaker whilst the latter runs just a single.

All three sets will become available this month with the GigaWorks T3 coming in at a rather pricey $199 USD at the current rate of exchange whilst the T40 and T20 Series II models will be priced at $187 and $144 respectively.

You can learn more about the T3 model within the press release here, but unfortunately I was unable to locate press releases for the other two offerings.

It's a bit of a shame to see no new surround kits from the company, their previous GigaWorks surround systems such as the 7.1 S750 were a nice step in the right direction but we've since been limited to 2/.1 channel arrangements. Hopefully Creative are working on something new in this area to surprise us.

August 29, 2008. Creative, a worldwide leader in digital entertainment products, announces the Creative GigaWorks® T3 speaker system. Designed to deliver the ultimate music listening experience, the Creative GigaWorks T3 combines innovative design, the best audio components and state-of-the-art technologies to elevate users' audio listening experience to an entirely new level of excellence.

The two satellite speakers deliver detailed sound thanks to the full-range premium drivers, which combine rich mid-range tones with clear highs. Audio from the satellite speakers merges naturally with bass from Creative SLAM™ subwoofer design (Symmetrically Loaded Acoustic Module) which uses three drivers to produce powerful, deep, rich bass with responsive dynamics. The system has been fine-tuned to ensure that users enjoy the most natural and balanced music experience.
