Logitech intros three new keyboards

By: (more) | Peripherals News | Posted: Sep 2, 2008 11:45 pm

Logitech has just released three new keyboards which include a new Illuminated Keyboard aimed at general users more so than gamers, a diNovo Keyboard primarily suited to notebook users and also the Cordless Desktop S520 keyboard/mouse combo for balanced desktop use.

Logitech Illuminated Keyboard

The Illuminated Keyboard features laser-etched keys with bright backlighting on all of them as well as a slimline profile of just 9.3mm. Logitech has also implemented its PerfectStroke key system to this keyboard which uses precision micro-scissors behind each key for improved travel and typing feel. An array of one-touch multimedia keys is included for such things as volume, music, video and e-mail/web browser access. Another nice touch is the inclusion of a palm rest area which has soft-touch material covering it and just helps make the keyboard that much nicer to work with.

Logitech diNovo for Notebooks

The diNovo for Notebooks strongly follows its bigger brother's design, the Edge. It sports a brushed aluminum wrist area with the rest of the keyboard being a glossy black color. The keyboard uses 2.4GHz wireless technology to connect to the notebook and feeds off three AAA batteries which Logitech claims will last up to 3 years. Logitech's PerfectStroke key system has been implemented into this keyboard as well. The keyboard's dimensions are just 7.01-inches x 6.81-inches x 0.87- inches (L x W x H) whilst still squeezing in a full numpad. Further complimenting the notebook positioned keyboard is its weight of just 900 grams.

Logitech S520 Cordless Desktop

Shifting focus to the compact contemporary designed Cordless Desktop S520, it uses a matte-black and grey theme with rounded edges and curved palmrest to suit suit a wide range of computer setups. Some of the keyboards highlights include extended battery life of up to 15 months, one touch access to media playback functions, volume control etc as well as programmable F-keys. The included LX5 Cordless mouse is said to provide exceptional precision with smoother tracking across more surfaces. Its scroll wheel includes side-to-side scrolling plus zoom functionality whilst its battery life is stated to be up to eight months.
