By: (more) | Video Cards News | Posted: Sep 3, 2008 3:28 am

MSI has just announced two new graphics cards based on the high-end NVIDIA GeForce GTX 280 GPU - the N280GTX OC HydroGen and the N280GTX-T2D1G Super OC.

The highlight is the HydroGen card which uses micro-channel water cooling design and MSI claims that it is able to operate 10c cooler than the reference cooler on the GTX 200 series. Maybe most interesting of all is that the cooler only takes up one slot but it still use the same dual slot bracket but you could probably take it off.

This fancy new HydroGen water cooler has allowed MSI to clock the GTX 280 chip all the way up to a core clock of 700MHz which is 17% faster than a standard clocked reference card. MSI's N280GTX-T2D1G Super OC card also has the same clock speeds but just uses the normal cooler, so it expect it heat up your system nice and good.
