NVIDIA mobile GPU woes blown out of perspective?

A fresh perspective on NVIDIA's mobile GPU failures, which we last reported.on in August, comes courtesy of Fudzilla today.

NVIDIA mobile GPU woes blown out of perspective?

It is claimed, that the Santa Clara, CA based company has agreed to stump up $200, to the likes of big OEMs such as Dell and HP, for each notebook system that is affected by a mobile GPU failure.

This settlement, apparently, meets the expectations of the parties in question and, covers the cost of a replacement GPU, repair costs and so on.

It is also believed that the issue is more frequently reproducing itself in the form of throttling issues, rather than a physically malfunctioning GPU, which perhaps explains why OEMs have taken it upon themselves to offer BIOS updates to unleash increased cooling fan speeds and potential, to keep thermals at bay.

This isn't to say that OEMs are all smiles though. Apparently there is frustration about the lack of information available surrounding the issue yet the company, at least, appears to be striving to make amends in its own way.

It is even suggested, that the situation has been blown out of proportion and that notebook recalls as a result of the issue have been very thin on the ground, if at all existent.
