More price drops coming on Core 2 Duos and Quads

By: (more) | Posted: Sep 21, 2008 11:58 pm

Intel are planning at least one more round of price cuts on existing Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quad CPUs before Nehalem takes over; this to take place on October 19th according to HEXUS.

Intel Price Drops - October 19 2008

The good ole' Q6600 will be dropping from $193 to $183 whilst the Q8200 will take a dive from $224 to $193. Dual core wise, The 2.66GHz E7300 will go down $20 from $133 to $113 and the birth of a new 2.8GHz E7400 will jump aboard at the same price point.

So, there won't be any huge drops this time around, but i'm sure we'll see further drops once Nehalem hits shelves or soon after.
