E-Tailer unleashes future NVIDIA GPU information

By: (more) | Posted: Sep 22, 2008 4:03 pm

We've been talking, these past few months, about NVIDIA moving the fabrication of its GPUs to a 55nm process. You also know, that secrets have an invariable habit of slipping out.

Techpowerup reports that Australian e-tailer, Austin Computers, has let slip claimed details pertaining to two upcoming NVIDIA SKUs, based on its anticipated shift to 55nm domain.

E-Tailer unleashes future NVIDIA GPU information

The first, is a refresh of NVIDIA's GTX 280, listed as the 55nm GTX 280+, powered by the GT200b GPU. This part is expected to stick with tried and tested GDDR3 memory, to the tune of 1 GB.

Perhaps more interestingly, is the mention of the GTX 350, fuelled by a GT300 GPU. The GT300, as it is named, is presumed to be a 55nm part and is listed as being married with 2 GB GDDR5 memory, utilising a 512-bit memory interface.

Q4 2008 is the date indicated for this marvel and could imply that NVIDIA has plans to throw AMD into a daze, sooner than expected.

Whatever the score, there is never a dull moment in GPU land.
