Western Digital goes big on NAS with ShareSpace

Western Digital has just unveiled its new ShareSpace line of storage solutions, marketed towards the business/corporate sector where centralized mass storage is the key to a smoother operation.

The ShareSpace allows for up to four HDDs and is available in either 2 or 4TB configurations. It can be connected either by USB 2.0 or Gigabit ethernet and its residing GreenPower series hard disks can be set to operate in either RAID 0 or 1, with the 4TB version also allowing for a RAID 5 config.

The unit comes bundled with WDs own automatic backup and remote accessing software and also features support for Microsoft Active Directory. It is now available for purchase at select retailers and WDs online store at an MSRP of $699.99 USD for the 2TB model and $999.99 USD to shift up to 4TB.
