If a report from Expreview.com over in China is to be believed, AMD will finally debut its codenamed Kuma AM2+ parts to the world sometime in Q1 2009.

 

According to an October 2008 AMD roadmap, Kuma will first come in the form of X2 7000 series dual-core 65nm processors.

 

Athlon X2 7550 is said to be clocked at 2.5GHz with 3MB cache and a TDP of 95 watts. The second is said to be the Athlon X2 7750 clocked at a high clock speed of 2.7GHz, also with the same 3MB cache and 95 watt TDP.

 

Supposedly these chips are designed to take it right up to Intel against its E7400 and E7300 processors. It will be interesting to see what AMD has come up sometime early next year.
