Intel LGA 1160 to become LGA 1156?

LGA 1160 is no more, apparently.

Intel LGA 1160 to become LGA 1156?

This article from Fudzilla suggests that the Nehalem supporting socket, which is set to debut with the P55 platform, is now known as LGA 1156.

Intel has supposedly removed four pins, which didn't have any actual use of course, giving the LGA 1160 socket a new name, to boot.

With other mumblings about the stability of the P55 platform itself, it appears that more news may be incoming from IDF Taipei and we will keep you updated, as always.
