Intel begins 65nm Core 2 Duo phase-out
Following the launch of its first, Nehalem microarchitecture derived, Core i7 CPUs, Intel is moving swiftly to begin the phase out of 65nm Core 2 Duo offerings.

According to this report from TechConnect Magazine, the Santa Clara, CA based company will cease accepting orders for E6850 (3.0 GHz), E6750 (2.66 GHz), E4600 (2.40 GHz) and E6540/E6550 (2.33 GHz) CPUs, on March 6th, 2009.
Whilst retail boxed SKUs shall ship until early June 2009, tray versions shall be delivered through till May 2010.
