ASUS prepares non-reference HD 4870 X2 behemoth
Bigger is better, if the latest non-reference graphics card offering to come from ASUS, is anything to go by.

According to this report from TechConnect Magazine, ASUS has unleashed a tri-fan cooling solution for its latest HD 4870 X2, that claims to lower GPU temperatures by over 20 degrees Celsius, when compared to the stock (reference) provisions. To negate any concerns about noise levels, it is claimed that the 29 dBA barrier shall not be breached.
Clock speeds remain as the expected 750 MHz and 900 MHz (3600 MHz QDR) for the GPUs and memory, respectively.
