Those of you who have been awaiting 45nm dual core offerings from AMD, may be in luck.

 

AMD works on Core 2 Duo challenger

 

According to this report from Fudzilla, it is believed that the Sunnyvale, CA based company is hard at work on its Athlon X2 200 series.

 

Regor, as it is codenamed, will boast 2 MB of cache and is believed to run at speeds over 2.8 GHz.

 

A suggested launch timeframe on the grapevine, is June 2009 and we will, undoubtedly, hear more about AMD's challenge to the Core 2 Duo throne, in the intervening period.
