Ati Cuts Prices on 4830 and 4870

By: (more) | Posted: Nov 28, 2008 1:07 pm

Price cuts are always good things, and for ATi they are going to be a necessity due to nVidia's success with release 180.

According to Fudo over at Fudzilla ATI will cut prices on the 4870 and the 4830. The 4870 shoulf drop by about $20 and the 4830 should drop under $100.

The 4830 has been a surprise performer this year and a pair of these in Crossfire can handle some pretty hi-res gaming the latest price cut should make it a great performance/price option.

Ati Cuts Prices on 4830 and 4870

The lovechild of ATI engineers and AMD accountants, dubbed Radeon HD4830, has finally dropped under the €100 mark and started to make sense.

We tested it a month ago here. Sanjin was impressed by its performance, but not thrilled about the ridiculous pricing. Back then it was priced at €125, on par with HD4850 cards and obviously it didn't make any sense. We kept our eyes open for the price drop and told you to wait a bit in case you wanted one and this morning the new price started popping up on price search engines.
