GeForce GTX 295 dual-GPU card spotted

By: (more) | Video Cards News | Posted: Dec 10, 2008 11:38 am

Further to reports of some new high-end GeForce offerings making their first appearance during CES early next year, VR-Zone has gotten hold of the first photo of the GTX 295, a dual-GPU based card sporting two 55nm GT260 GPUs.

We can see from the picture, the card uses the same sandwich design that is typical of NVIDIA's dual-GPU setups. There are two DVI ports and one Display port resident on this particular pre-release sample as well as an 8+6-pin PCIe power arrangement.

The card certainly looks rather ugly in its naked form, but we can be assured that it will be fully dressed in a solid housing with hopeful adequate cooling measures taken before it goes into mass production.

This is the beast that is expected to rise up above the current giant; ATI's HD 4870 X2 whilst keeping within a competitive pricing margin.
