By: (more) | Storage News | Posted: Dec 29, 2008 2:16 am

Hey guys, thought I'd jump on and freshen up the news flow a little during this quietest time of year. I hope you all had a great xssy and received some kickass presents. Now we can all look forward to 2009!

NAS storage specialist QNAP issued out an announcement over the xmas break which lets us know their full line-up of TS-109/209/409/509 Turbo NAS series units support Seagate's Barracuda 7200.11 1.5TB hard disk.

As an example, this now allows the five-bay TS-509 to have up to a whopping 7.5TB storage capacity. The PR also makes mention of the TS-409 and 509's Online RAID Capacity Expansion feature which makes it possible to replace hard disks for larger ones without losing existing data or turning the server off. More information on that can be found here.

The press release can be found here.
