ASUS & GIGABYTE stuck with too many 4-series mobos

By: (more) | Motherboards News | Posted: Jan 14, 2009 4:10 am

It's been reported that both ASUS and GIGABYTE have become well overstocked with Intel 4-series chipset motherboards which are losing value very quickly and due to lower demand they literally cannot be shifted.

ASUS dropped pricing across its P45 series motherboards back in September to help speed up the sales, but the giant mobo manufacturer is apparently still stuck with an inventory of 4-series boards somewhere around the vicinity of 6-7 million units, equating to around NT$6 biliion ($180.57 million USD), whilst GIGABYTE isn't fairing much better, holding an inventory of around NT$4-5 billion.
