nVidia's ION reviewed

By: (more) | Posted: Feb 3, 2009 3:20 pm

nVidia's ION is making the rounds today as several sites are pushing their reviews out the door.

ION is nVidia answer to the poor netbook graphics dilemma currently surrounding the use of the 945G with the Atom CPU. nVidia feels a much better combination would be the GeForce 9400M and the Atom.

The 9400M is the same mobile GPU that powers the MacBooks and does provide some good graphics performance. I am left to wonder if this is not dressing up something that does not need it. After all HD graphics in a 10" display and on a product that is primarily meant for light work, might be overkill.

Seems the netbook and SFF PC Market just got interesting.
