These Phenom II processors of AMD's are certainly a big leap forward when it comes to the clockspeeds they're capable of, especially under extreme cooling with several people having been successful at getting them past 6GHz soon after they came out last month.

The platform used for the task comprised a Phenom II X4 940 processor on DFI's LANParty DK 790GX-M2RS motherboard with 2x1GB of Crucial Ballistix PC8500 memory. Of course, extreme LN2 cooling was used which allowed the CPU to be clocked up to 6072MHz (229x26.5).
