Linksys and Trend Micro have developed a new protection suite for your home network. Home Network Defender is powered by Trend Micro and runs in the firmware on some of the latest Linksys by Cisco routers. Currently only the WRT610N and WRT310N routers are supported, but they are working on bringing it to the WRT160N soon.

Home Network Defender (HND) works to protect you much like a firewall, but is much more user-friendly and doesn't run on your PC, freeing up valuable system resources that are often consumed by typical internet protection suites. As HND runs on the router it provides protection before a threat even reaches the devices inside your network and thus enhancing your protection and decreasing your risks. HND also makes managing your home network simple from a single centralized location. Parental controls can be set for individual devices and network activity reports can be pulled instant from anywhere in the world to monitor what is happening with your network. Updates are applied continuously and in in real-time to ensure that your protection is up-to-date.

To provide true multi-layer protection on your network, Home Network Defender also comes with four licenses to Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware so that all of your networked devices are protected from security threats and malicious content.
