Photofast shows of SDCard RAID and PSP toys

By: (more) | Posted: Mar 10, 2009 3:27 pm

Have you ever heard of Photofast? Well I haven't either but I have a feeling we will all come to know and love this company. While taking a stroll around CeBit Charlie Demerjian found them and some of their new gadgets.

The first one is something I am sure many people have been waiting for. It is an SDcard raid controller with a SATA interface called the Photofast CR9200. Yup that is right you can toss up to 8 fast SDCards into this device which has about the same dimensions as a 2.5" drive. With 128MB of built in cache it gives some impressive speed.

Photofast was also showing what is more than likely a complete godsend to PSP hackers everywhere. We all know that Sony memory sticks are overpriced, slow and a large pain in the butt. Photofast was a pair of Memory Stick adapters; one bolts to the back of your PSP and allows for up to 64GB of SDcard storage, while the other holds up to 2 micro-SD Cards and fits in the MemoryStick slot.

Once again, Photofast rides to the rescue with a dual SD card widget that emulates a memory stick. The CR-3100 screws onto the back of the PSP and plugs into the MemoryStick slot. Not only do you get fast and cheap, but it allows you to have 64G on a PSP.

If that is too bulky for you, the CR-5400 on the left of the PSP might be more to your liking. It is a MemoryStick adapter with two MicroSD slots. Want the same speed with a little less capacity and a lot less bulk? Pick the 5400.
