Look for ARM based netbooks in June

I tell you, who would have thought the netbook craze would have blown up the way it has. You know it reminds me of the $100 E-Machine craze in the late 90s early 2000s. Almost everyone had a $100 system after E-Machine did.

 

Well this is fever is now moving over to the ARM manufactures as they plan out their very own netbooks.

 

According to Digitimes both Freescale and Qualcomm will be launching netbooks at Computex. Let's hope that the netbook craze does not end as badly as the $100 PC did.

Look for ARM based netbooks in June

A model equipped with Freescale's i.MX51 CPU (ARM Coretex A8) and manufactured by Pegatron Technology, and a model with Qualcomm's Snapdragon CPU and manufactured by Wistron will both appear at Computex Taipei 2009, while Nvidia Tegra-based models will appear at a later time.

 

Micro-Star International (MSI) has reportedly expressed interest in developing Tegra-based products, while the company and Asustek Computer have both confirmed that they are evaluating the possibility of launching Qualcomm CPU-based netbooks.
