Last week some pictures and information about Microsoft's next Zune update were leaked from an internal promotional video.
Microsoft is calling it the "Zune v4 powered by HD" and as the name suggests, the portable media player is gaining support for high definition content. The new Zune will have HDMI out that will allow for HD content to be watched on larger displays.
The glass screen features multi-touch capabilities and the device will also feature wireless connectivity. The FM tuner is also getting an update that will allow the Zune to pick up HD radio as well.
As the Zune itself is going HD, it is also presumed that the Zune marketplace wll be offering HD content to go along with it, and it only makes sense that this be true. Microsoft's new Zune is said to be shipping later this year in both 16GB and 32GB varieties, but it wouldn't be shocking to see higher capacity players available either at launch or shortly after. The new Zune will also get a new line of accessories. No price estimate was give but it is said that it will be available internationally.
