Microsoft Says Windows 7 Coming For Holidays

Microsoft has been pretty tight lipped on the release of Windows 7 and until Acer slipped up with a date about a week ago we knew nothing more than sometime before the and of January 2010.

Now Microsoft is confirming a that Windows 7 will be released before the end of the year and in time for the holidays. They aren't giving and exact date and you can bet until it goes gold that they won't. This gives Microsoft some wiggle room should development not go perfectly as planned.

To hold us over, Microsoft has also released pictures of the retail packaging for both full versions of Windows 7 as well as the Anytime Upgrades.
