Telstra Raises Prices on Broadband again, and I am not happy

By: (more) | Posted: Jan 26, 2002 3:17 am

Hi to all the Tweakers out there.

Just reciently Tel$tra have decided to raise the price on Broadband connection to the Internet. This I have found to be a rather un-fair hike especally for those on the ADSL plans who have had to endure alot recently, from changing AUP's to weeks of downtime and how price rises

Here i have added a snip of what I sent off the the Telstra Team and I ask that if any other Telstra ADSL and Cable subscribers out there read this they register their complaints to.

"Dear Telstra Bigpond ADSL Team

About 3-4 days ago I was watching channel 9 news and to my horror I was told

that Telstra was going to increase pricing on Broadband connections to the

net.

As a concerned customer I proceded to check the Telstra Bigpond Broadband

ADSL pricing situation and behold I find there to be a price hike on March

2002.

Now since i have recieved the Telstra Bigpond ADSL service in June 2001 I

have had to endure a change from the original AUP to the new AUP reducing my

downloads to 3GB per month. While I found this partly acceptable I have also

had to endure constand Downtimes with the service, Including one that forced

me offline for upto a full week.

While Telstra did compensate for this I find that increasing the price on an

already unstable service does push the limit of mine and quite a few others

patience.

I would like to understand Telstra's claim that this will generate more

interest in Broadband when the price is only going up"

I will be setting up a thread in the Forums for the members to discuss this issue in more detail. Please feel free to register your opinions there.
