Foxconn to show off moblin based netbook

Amongst the other items you can expect to see at Computex 2009 Foxconn will be showing off a Moblin based netbook.

 

Moblin is Intel's flavor of Linux for netbooks and is actually not a bad OS. I had the chance to tinker with the beta in a VM and thought it had a very nice flow and was very easy to work with.

 

The Foxconn flavored Moblin offering will have an Atom N270 1GB of RAM and a 160GB HDD. For the true mobile user 3G wireless has been thrown in as well.

it looks like Foxconn is among the first out of the gate with a Moblin-running netbook at Computex Taipei, with its new SZ901 model opting for Linpus' just-revealed distribution of the OS. As you might expect, however, there aren't exactly many surprises beyond that welcome addition, with the 10.1-inch netbook packing the usual Atom N270 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, and built-in 3G, along with a glossy finish all around.
