Thermaltake moves to a perfect 10 w/ desktop case

By: (more) | Posted: Jun 2, 2009 10:01 am

Computex Taipei 2009: Computex is always releasing something new and on Thermaltake's 10th anniversary they thought they'd celebrate with a brand new case.

This is not really just an ordinary case; this one has been done in collaboration with both AMD and BMW Designworks USA and is a whole new design for Thermaltake.

The first thing is the height of the case; it's as large, if not the largest desktop case I have seen. The unit is completely modular in that it has sealed off compartments for each of the main components to prevent heat spill. What do we mean by that? Well, no heat from the CPU will reach the GPU and none from the GPU will reach the CPU; it's all sealed and vented externally.

The internal HDDs are sealed within six 3.5" cases and are cooled by a common heatsink running through the case. The CPU is also encased within a separate enclosure, but it is able to pull heat away from the CPU and GPU through pipe work.

The case is made from a carbon fibre composite, the same material that makes up Formula 1 cars. Lighting for the case is provided by OLED's for a brighter and longer lasting illumination system.
