Intel is on a roll at Computex this year and trying to stick it to AMD. This time around they have launched a bunch of new processors and a new chipset.

Perhaps the most important news from Intel at this point is the launch of the T9900. It is the first Penyrn-based Core 2 Duo to break the 3GHz barrier and it runs at 3.06GHz.

Intel has also launched the P9700 and P8800 processors. These two Core 2 Duo chips run at 2.8GHz and 2.66GHz respectively. Those wondering about Intel's ULV processors will be happy to know that they have also launched the SU2700, a 1.3GHz chip that will accomping the GS40 Express Chipset for ULV-based notebooks.

Speaking of the GS40 Express Chipset, Intel just announced it as well. This value chipset enables ULV-based laptops to support features consumers have come to expect from laptops including HD playback, Windows Vista Premium support and native support for integrated HDMI.
