Computex Taipei 2009: Since VIA has dropped away from the desktop chipset market, you would think this company would be going under. After all, their big push in the late 90's and early 2k was their chipsets for AMD and Intel products. However, times have changed and VIA no longer has any desktop chipsets for their competitors, rather focusing on their mobile and miniature PC market with chipsets for their own CPU's as well as graphics support through S3.

Samsung's QIEX based UMPC was running some MPEG2 and MPEG4 video playback without any dramas. In fact, it showed very smooth playback while using VIA's NANO processor.

Samsung sure has embraced VIA with Nano, even making it into some of their low power notebooks such as the NC20.

VIA was telling us that they now have HP onboard, finally using VIA in their Think Client PC's.

Even GIGAYBTE has gotten in with some VIA based Think client PC's.

VIA even has some MID's based on their Eden ULV processors. While they aren't the fastest processors on the market, this baby was quite good for what it was.

Now this is some big name support; Shuttle has been one of the biggest supporters of SFF and VIA has managed to get Shuttle onboard to use their Nano processor.

S3 Graphics has been quiet for a while but today we saw two discrete GPUs ready for release into the market at the budget/entry level.
