AMD grabs 2.3% Market Share from Intel

AMD fans and the press alike are singing the death of Intel's market dominance from the rooftops.

 

The problem is that Intel still holds more than 75% of the market. It is true that AMD grabbed a decent 2.3% share back from Intel but that is simply not enough to make me think that AMD is going to even the playing field any time soon.

 

There are some good events on the horizon for AMD; Istanbul looks promising as does Fusion. The big issue now is, can AMD get these products to market on time and will they live up to the performance claims in the real-world.

 

If they can it could mean a bigger share for them. If not it will be business as usual and a return to the courtroom.
