Battlefield 3 confirmed by EA

By: (more) | Posted: Jun 11, 2009 1:29 pm

Good news for fans of the EA series Battlefield as EA has just confirmed the next installment of the popular game.

Battlefield 3 could be out in time for the 2010 holiday season so it is not something that will hit the stores soon. The game will follow similar lines to Battlefield 2 with support for up to 40 players per team, 24 different vehicles, 17 different weapons and unlockable equipment.

If things go well we could expect to see a downloadable demo of the game sometime next summer (2010).

Battlefield 3 confirmed by EA

Battlefield 3 has been confirmed by Electronic Arts chief operating officer, John Pleasants. The new Battlefield 3 game is currently in development and the information was obtained from John during a presentation at the William Blair Growth Stock Conference in Chicago.

"I've had the luxury of looking at Battlefield 3 over at DICE in Sweden and was highly impressed by the way the team is working on that product. Of course, that's not in [this] fiscal year, but that is a product that is looking very good." Pleasants said during the conference.
