NASA LRO shows Apollo Landing Sites

By: (more) | Storage News | Posted: Jul 17, 2009 7:26 pm

While this is not tech news it is still fun and one for the conspiracy theory crowd. I know that many people believe that the moon landings were faked and that this is probably something that will never truly be put to rest.

However, there is "fresh meat" in the conspiracy stew. The Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter has sent back pictures of not one but five landing sites, including the Apollo 11 landing site. The pictures show Apollo 11, 14, 15, 16 and 17.

Now I know that someone will point out that the tiny little dot is way too small to make out and they would be right. But think on this, that tiny little dot is being shown exactly where NASA always said the landing took place and the LRO is not even at its closest yet.

Now if the Apollo 11 site is not good enough for you, take a look at the Apollo 14 site. You can see an actual trail from the LEM to one of the experiments left on the moon.

I will leave you to ponder this and wait for the gaggle of comments that these are all faked too.
