Despite the fact that you cannot playback Blu-Ray movies on a Mac it looks like you might at least be able to control them from your iPhone.
The deal is this, Universal is looking to open up a portion of Blu-Ray Live by releasing a "tie-in" that will allow you control the companion features (you remember them as special features) from your iPhone or iPod Touch.
The first title to get this will be a special release of "The Fast and The Furious" in this you will be able to control the view of vehicles in the virtual garage.
Later releases will feature more integration with Twitter and Facebook access. The new features will only work with internet connected Blu-Ray players.
It is not know when this will meet the approval of the morality and control police at Apple but, this might be a time when the size and power of the company might hold sway and get this one pushed through.
