Ah the rumor mill rumbles along. This morning we have one about Intel. The rumor revolves around the PineTrail CPU.

The rumor says that Intel is planning to delay the release of PineTrail until next year. The reasons for this delay have not been specified but some have said that the delay is to prevent negative impact to netbook sales this year.

While I am not sure that would have any impact on sales it is possible that PineTrail could impact the sales of CULV base books in the smaller screen sizes.

This new "thin and light" market really needs a good quarter or two to get off the ground. A release of a better Atom CPU could have a very negative impact on CULV acceptance in the market.
