Intel still not delaying PineTrail

By: (more) | CPU, APU & Chipsets News | Posted: Aug 5, 2009 12:23 pm

Don't believe the hype. The rumors are already starting again about Intel delaying Pinetrail.

The latest rumor popped up this morning and is crediting "fresh info". They are trying to tell you that Intel is pushing them back to Q1 for reasons undisclosed. The reason we are telling you about this is because we just talked to Intel yesterday and were told;

"Pine Trail continues to remain on track, shipping to customers in late 2009 as previously disclosed"

Unless this new info is newer than August 4th at around noon US Eastern Time then it would seem that the N450 Atom (PineTrail) will still ship by the end of the year.

We are not sure why these rumors are popping up like this but it is interesting that they are just as nVidia, AMD and Samsung are entering the market.

nVidia has Tegra, Samsung has Snapdragon and AMD has their own low power mobile CPU. It is entirely possible that someone at one of these three companies is playing the FUD (Fear Uncertainty and Doubt) game. We are trying to get independent verification on the status of Pinetrail from a few OEMs but have not heard back as of this writing.
