EVGA shows off X58 4-Way SLI Classified

By: (more) | Video Cards News | Posted: Aug 31, 2009 7:19 pm

We have all heard about Tri-SLI but now EVGA has come out with Quad SLI.
This will be that next big thing in overclocking as EVGA has stuffed 2 NF200 chips onto its X58 platform.

According to the information from EVGA this board will feature a full seven (yes Seven) PCI-e x16 slots. Granted not all of these will work at x16 if you have them all populated but at least four will run at a full x16 at once.

This means that the top 3DMark scores are about to be completely broken.

EVGA has also introduced a new GTX 285 Classified card. These cards are tailor made for overclocking. They feature an 8-phase digital PWM and extra six-pin aux power plug just for the extra push you need. EVGA has also added in a 4-way OC mode just for you to get the most out of that extra card. Just to keep everything under control EVGA has added in dedicated voltage read points.

The new board is going to be something else and is actually about 1.5-inches longer than a standard ATX board to accommodate the extra slots.

The next round of overclocking is looking pretty amazing to me.
