AMD 8xx sereis chipset roadmap detailed

By: (more) | CPU, APU & Chipsets News | Posted: Sep 4, 2009 3:48 pm

In more AMD news (rolling over from yesterday) we find a new roadmap for the AMD 800 series chipset.

This new chipset is supposed to bring new features and performance to AMD CPUs. There will be a couple of different flavors though. Starting off with the Leo Platform we find the 890 FX/GX and SB850 combination. This will be the high end of the playing field for AMD. Right below this in the mainstream category is the 880G and SB810.

The launch times for these are April 2010 for the 890 and March 2010 for the 880. Pricing has not been uncovered yet but it stands to reason that the 880 will have a lower price point. It is also believed that the 880G will support DX11 with its IGP.
