Corsair launches HX650W 650 Watt Profesional PSU

By: (more) | Cases, Cooling & PSU News | Posted: Sep 15, 2009 7:32 pm

Corsair is introducing a new flavor of their professional grade PSUs. The new comer to the family is the HX650W, this is a 650 watt PSU that boasts a 80 Plus Bronze rating. The Bronze rating means that the HX650W can deliver a minimum of 82% and an average of 85%.

According to Corsair this is essential for today's Intel Core i5 and i7 systems and for multi-GPU systems as well. The HX650W also sports a single 12-Volt rail that can push out 52 Amps. This is a nice number and should be able to keep a fair number of GPUs and HDDs running.

The HX650W is also built to last as it is tested running at 100% load at 50c. This test ensures that it can take the heat associated with high-performance hardware and still deliver the power needed.

For cabling you have options for up to four PCI-e devices (although no word on if these are 6 or 8-pin cables.) The modular design makes it great for keeping your case clean. The HX650W joins its older brothers the HX750W, HX850W and HX1000W
