Intel Launches Clarksfield Mobile CPUs

By: (more) | CPU, APU & Chipsets News | Posted: Sep 24, 2009 5:42 pm

Yesterday Intel launched their Mobile Core i7 CPUs. Right after the announcement we saw a veritable flood of reviews and PRs about this new impressive mobile CPU.

The flagship for the new mobile Core i7s is the i7 920XM. This will be the first of the Clarksfield 45nm mobile CPUs. You will get the nicer parts of the Desktop Core i7 like Hyper-Threading and Turbo Boost but you will lose the advantage of triple channel memory.

The i7 920XM will be accompanied but the i7 920QM and the i7 820QM. While all of them will have the advantage of Turbo Boost the 920XM will actually have overclocking option enabled (just like the desktop version).

A couple of sites actually got a chance to take a closer look and found that the new CPU and mobile chipset are very impressive and ones that should make gamers and enthusiasts happy with their performance and power.
