AMD brightens up its low-end desktop lineup of processors

By: (more) | CPU, APU & Chipsets News | Posted: Oct 21, 2009 3:36 pm

AMD has given its low-end processor space a big refreshment this week with the introduction of no less than eight new Athlon II processors. The new family is all about low power usage and low cost for those on a tight budget or who simply don't require anything more.

These new processors come in a differing range of clockspeeds and in dual, triple and quad core flavours. However, it seems the only samples of the new family being handed out for testing thus far are the X2 240e and X3 435 variants, these of which are clocked at 2.8GHz and 2.9GHz respectively.
