First sighting of an ATI Radeon HD 5870 X2

By: (more) | Video Cards News | Posted: Nov 2, 2009 12:42 pm

The first definitive images of the highly anticipated soon to be released Radeon HD 5970 Dual-GPU wielding graphics card have appeared on the web thanks to the folks over at Alienbabeltech.

What you can see in the pictures is a reference model, albeit not the final revision. You can see in the image below that the card is extremely long at 13.5 inches, barely fitting into the full size Antec 1200. It is likely the final card will be a bit shorter. The card's power source is both 8 and 6-pin PCI-E connectors.

A run of benchmarks were also completed, however AMD quickly got hold of the guys who posted them and had them pulled, also noting that both the drivers and BIOS are not finalized which will give noticably different performance results to what the final revision is capable of.
