Futuremark now chiseling away at a DX11 based 3DMark

By: (more) | Software News | Posted: Nov 5, 2009 1:04 pm

As could have been expected, FutureMark are now hard at work in developing a DirectX 11 version of their 3DMark benchmarking suite. This will of course be the successor to the DirectX 10 based 3DMark Vantage.

Whilst FutureMark have only reported that they are hard at work creating beautiful looking art and fantastic code which will be at the leading edge of technology, it is clear that with the latest desktop graphics cards being DX11 based and the history of FutureMark's development path, DX11 will be used in its entirety along with some other enhancements including superior performance calculations for the latest in GPU architecture.

No word on when it'll come out yet; we'll be sure to keep you updated as word comes in.
