ZiiLABS ZMS-08 - First 1080p capable handheld media processor

By: (more) | CPU, APU & Chipsets News | Posted: Nov 10, 2009 2:03 pm

An exciting highly capable little chip from ZiiLABS called the ZMS-08 has just been announced and should heat up the netbook market quite a bit in the near future once it gathers momentum. This is a third-gen mobile SoC (System on a Chip) which promises to handle 1080p playback and 24fps encoding without a hitch; the first of its kind to do so.

The new chip has the inclusion of OpenGL ES 2.0 support, an integrated HDMI controller, X-Fi audio and Flash acceleration features. The chip is expected to be harnessed by many netbooks, connected TVs, web tablets etc. but apparently not so much in the world of smartphones.

For full details about the chip, you can locate the official press release in our press room at the below source link.
