My personal experience has been that those items "On Order" never took more than week for it ship with most being delivered on time as if they were in stock. Either way, if you're willing to wait a little bit, you can pick up these brand new iPod Nano's for $10 less than anywhere else and with no tax except in MA, OH, or TN, which actually is better as well since Apple now has stores everywhere.
