Samsung has just announced that it's been working on a new open mobile platform is calls Samsung Bada which will allow developers to create applications galore for thousands of new Samsung mobile phone models and in turn enhance the feature-set and experience for future Samsung mobile phone consumers.

The word 'Bada' means 'Ocean' in Korean; used to convey the endless possibilities that this open mobile platform gives to developers in application creation.

Dr. Hosoo Lee, Head of Media Solution Center at Samsung Electronics, said, "By opening Samsung's mobile platforms, we will be able to provide rich mobile experiences on an increasing number of accessible smartphones." He added, "Bada will be Samsung's landmark, iconic new platform that brings an unprecedented opportunity for operators, developers and Samsung mobile phone users around the world."
