USB 3.0 vs. USB 2.0 Speed Test at GIGABYTE HQ with new P55A-UD6 mobo
Earlier this week we visited the GIGABYTE headquarters here in Taipei to check out some USB 3.0 versus USB 2.0 performance numbers.
GIGABYTE bought a Buffalo branded USB 3.0 hard drive enclosure and hooked it up to its new P55A-UD6 motherboard, which comes complete with USB 3.0 support, powered by a new NEC controller.
GIGABYTE installed a Kingston SSD inside the Buffalo enclosure and we ran some tests. First of all we show you standard Windows file copy performance and then we fire up HD Tach and run the numbers comparing the new SuperSpeed USB technology against the now aging USB 2.0 standard.
Can't wait for USB 3.0? Me neither. I just got done installing my new X58A-UD7 motherboard, now I just need some USB 3.0 hardware to test. Who wants to send me some?
