Verizon offers steal on Gateway LT netbook on Black Friday

By: (more) | Laptops News | Posted: Nov 25, 2009 4:15 pm

Subsidized netbooks are more and more common in America today with most wireless providers offering netbooks with built-in 3G connectivity. The discounted price means that customers have to agree to a new contract for data plans though often making the machines cost more than just buying it outright to begin with.

Verizon Wireless has announced a steal for Black Friday for those shopping for a new netbook and 3G service. Verizon will offer the Gateway LT netbook for $29.99 starting Friday and going through Monday. Naturally, the price is after a $100 mail-in rebate.

The netbook is a 10.1-inch unit with a 160GB HDD, 1GB of RAM and Intel Atom power. I loathe mail-in rebates. They are nothing more than a hope that we forget to send them in and pay full price in my opinion.
